What is Colon Hydrotherapy?

Colon hydrotherapy, also called colonic irrigation or a colonic, uses warm, filtered water to assist the removal of stool from the large intestine — the colon.

At KK Wellness, we use a closed system. Water enters and leaves through separate tubing, allowing bowel contents to pass discreetly into the sealed system.

Your therapist stays with you throughout, explaining the process and checking your comfort. Gentle abdominal massage may also be used during the session.

Before beginning, we discuss your health history, answer your questions and check whether the procedure is suitable for you.

Colon Hydrotherapy benefits

  • Relief from Occasional ConstipationDifficulty opening your bowels can leave you feeling uncomfortable. Colon hydrotherapy can help relieve occasional constipation by assisting bowel emptying.
  • Bowel CleansingThe procedure uses water to help remove stool from the colon during your session.
  • Care Tailored to YouYour health history, comfort and questions guide your appointment. We take time to explain each stage rather than rushing you through the process.

Give your digestive health some attention

Busy days can make it easy to overlook hydration, eating habits and your toilet routine.

Looking after your digestive health begins with paying attention to these everyday habits and noticing changes in how your body feels.

At KK Wellness, we give you space to talk about your concerns and understand what colon hydrotherapy involves. If you are considering a colonic for occasional constipation, we can discuss suitability before you book.

Persistent or recurring symptoms need medical assessment, as a colonic does not address every cause of digestive discomfort.

Your first colonic at KK Wellness

It is natural to have questions before your first visit.

You may wonder what the procedure feels like, whether it will be embarrassing or how to prepare. We explain everything beforehand and respect your privacy throughout.

There is no pressure to proceed before you feel informed and ready. You can ask questions, request a pause or stop the session at any time.

Our aim is for you to feel listened to and supported.

What happens during your visit?

Before the Session
We review your health history, discuss your reasons for visiting and explain the procedure. This is your opportunity to ask questions and talk through any concerns.

During the Session
You relax on the treatment couch while your therapist manages the closed system and monitors your comfort.

You may notice fullness, an urge to open your bowels or some cramping. Let your therapist know how you feel throughout.

After the Session
We discuss aftercare and answer any remaining questions before you leave. Your response can vary, and we do not promise the same result for every client.

Frequently asked questions

Is colon hydrotherapy the same as colonic irrigation?

Yes. Colon hydrotherapy, colonic irrigation and a colonic are commonly used names for the same procedure. You may also see the term colon cleansing.

Can colon hydrotherapy relieve constipation?

It can help relieve occasional constipation by assisting bowel emptying. It does not treat the underlying cause of chronic constipation.

If constipation is persistent, severe or keeps returning, seek medical advice.

What does colon hydrotherapy feel like?

You may experience fullness, an urge to open your bowels or cramping. Experiences vary, and your therapist will check your comfort throughout.

Tell us immediately if you feel pain or discomfort.

Is the procedure private?

Yes. We use a closed system and take care to protect your privacy and dignity throughout your appointment.

How long is the appointment?

Please allow approximately 45–50 minutes for your visit, including consultation and aftercare discussion.

How many appointments should I book?

There is no fixed number suitable for everyone. Start by discussing your circumstances with us rather than assuming you need a course.

Is colon hydrotherapy suitable for everyone?

No. We check your health history before proceeding. Some conditions or previous procedures may make it unsuitable.

Colon hydrotherapy is invasive and carries risks, including dehydration, infection and, rarely, bowel injury. Please seek independent medical advice before treatment.

How much does a colonic cost?

Our booking page shows current colon hydrotherapy prices, additional options and available appointments.

Can I speak to someone before booking?

Of course. Contact us with your questions, especially if this is your first colonic or you are unsure about suitability.
